Open Your Heart - Backbends with Hannah Taha Part 1

Hannah invites you to come and explore the infinite possibilities within your body in this powerful 2-hour workshop. 

You will learn techniques to create space within your entire body while activating strength to support it. We will explore our spine's incredible range of motion by gaining a deeper understanding of its anatomy and how to safely open up the thoracic spine, shoulders and hip flexors to create a healthy, balanced backbend. We'll also work on strengthening the hamstrings, quads and hip flexors - learning active flexibility techniques to help us access postures, like splits, safely. 

Tension and emotions are hidden deeply in our bodies, often leading to a restricted range of motion. In this workshop, you will learn to move freely with strength and love for your body.

Move with Love: Hips & Hamstrings with Hannah Taha Part 2

This two-hour workshop will work on stabilizing and increasing mobility in your hips and hamstrings. 

Negative emotions can get trapped in our bodies, they hide out in places that get the least amount of stretching and release. In this workshop you will build heat through dynamic vinyasa and create space and freedom in your hips through steady and strategic hip openers, leading us towards the middle splits. We’ll also include various backbends throughout this workshop, tying together everything we’ve learned over the weekend.

We'll examine multiple techniques for practicing the middle splits and backbends in a safe way that is effective for students of all levels. 

This workshop is designed for all levels & will enhance and expand your practice, wherever you are.

About Melayne

Melayne Shayne is a Budokon Mixed Movement Artist (Yoga, Mobility, Martial & Living Arts, Animal Locomotion and Calisthenics).
From a young age, she has been drawn to free form movement and self expression. For Melayne, moving is more than creating forms and shapes with the body, it is a life long commitment to self reflection and personal development. Before finding her true love and authentic expression in Budokon, she has sought to practice and learn from teachers around the globe within various lineages and styles as Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow, and ballet. 

Her love for movement as well as living and sharing the Budokon philosophy is reflected in her commitment to her black belt, as well as her grounded, detailed and compassionate style of teaching. In life and during her classes she seeks to be inspired and inspire others, to challenge herself and others. She enables her students to feel, tune in and discover themselves in a unique and authentic way. Melayne opens platforms of connection for females to come together as warrior women, to discover and educate each other in unexplored ways to live a more holistic and conscious live through movement, nourishment and self care. She creates and holds a space of empowerment, accountability and leadership.
