21ST SEPTEMBER GUEST TEACHER DAWN WRIGHT

Soothe your body with this healing Yin and Tonic full-day workshop.

In Taoist philosophy, late summer is a powerful and auspicious time, a turning point between the hot yang energy of summer and the cooler yin energy of Autumn. Using this we will be spending the day diving into practices to attune our minds, bodies, and spirits with the qualities it evokes.


Class 1: 10.00-13.00 Yang Yoga

Our morning session will be spent in a fiery yang practice - exploring the bountiful and transformational energy of late summer as we move through a playful and dynamic flow, burning away the heat of the summer, and with it leaving behind things that no longer serve us.

Class 2: 14.00-17.00 Yin Yoga

During the afternoon session, we will work with a grounding yin practice focused on the Stomach and Spleen meridians. This will allow us to indulge in the time and space to digest our thoughts and emotions so that we can transform them into tangible ideas and creations, and for turning inwards towards our individual needs and desires to build resilience and self-care in our practice and our lives.

Dawn is a Senior Yoga Teacher, teacher trainer, and yoga business coach from the UK with over 20 years of teaching experience. She is known for her supportive, fun, informative and accessible style of teaching.

Class 1: Open Your Heart - Backbends

Hannah invites you to come and explore the infinite possibilities within your body in this powerful 2-hour workshop. 

You will learn techniques to create space within your entire body while activating strength to support it. We will explore our spine's incredible range of motion by gaining a deeper understanding of its anatomy and how to safely open up the thoracic spine, shoulders and hip flexors to create a healthy, balanced backbend. We'll also work on strengthening the hamstrings, quads and hip flexors - learning active flexibility techniques to help us access postures, like splits, safely. 

Tension and emotions are hidden deeply in our bodies, often leading to a restricted range of motion. In this workshop, you will learn to move freely with strength and love for your body.

Class 2: Move with Love: Hips & Hamstrings 

This two-hour workshop will work on stabilizing and increasing mobility in your hips and hamstrings. 

Negative emotions can get trapped in our bodies, they hide out in places that get the least amount of stretching and release. In this workshop you will build heat through dynamic vinyasa and create space and freedom in your hips through steady and strategic hip openers, leading us towards the middle splits. We’ll also include various backbends throughout this workshop, tying together everything we’ve learned over the weekend.

We'll examine multiple techniques for practicing the middle splits and backbends in a safe way that is effective for students of all levels. 

This workshop is designed for all levels & will enhance and expand your practice, wherever you are.
